Thursday PM
Let's tackle something new together and take the fear out of color knitting! This class is an exploration of color knitting techniques including slip stitch, mosaic, intarsia, and stranded colorwork. We will start with slip stitches and mosaic knitting using two colors, then move on to intarsia. Finally, we’ll try stranding, where both two-handed and one-handed techniques will be demonstrated.
Skill Level: Students should have intermediate knitting skills with the ability to execute simple patterned motifs from written or charted instructions.
Material fee: $15 Yarn packet including four yarns for color knitting, two solid natural shades (fingering and DK) and two dyed yarns (fingering and DK). These yarns are specifically selected to have characteristics which can be compared and contrasted in the class exercises for both traditional colorwork and more contemporary pairings.
Student Supplies: Needles size 5US or 6US (3.75 mm to 4.0 mm), scissors and other small tools
Homework: None
