Beginning tapestry weaving: how to get started in one day

Don’t let tapestry weaving intimidate you! This wonderful art form is something anyone can learn. Rebecca will get you started warping a simple loom and learning to make shapes and color blends. We’ll warp a simple loom, learn to choose and make a header, and then start weaving a small project. you’ll leave with instructions to finish the project on your own and you’ll be well on your way to making your own tapestry creations.

Skill level: No experience necessary

Material fee: $15 for warp, weft, and handout

Student Supplies: Come to class with one of these looms: Schacht Easel Weaver loom, Schacht Lilli Loom, Mirrix Saffron Loom or a Handywoman loom. (Please email Rebecca if you have a different loom you want to bring.) You’ll also need these tools: A tapestry fork or dinner fork, scissors, and a yarn needle. If you have a small shed stick and a small tapestry bobbin, please bring those also.
