Sadly Cancelled 2021

Like all of you, we’ve been monitoring the pandemic situation since March.  Our number one priority is the safety of our students, teachers and vendors.  We want to make sure that all of us are around to create fiber fabulousness for decades to come!  Unfortunately, we have no alternative but to cancel Red Alder Fiber Arts Retreat for 2021.

We’ve worked with The Murano Hotel, and we are all set for 2022.  We hope you’ll join us February 16-20, 2022 for an amazing return to Red Alder Fiber Arts Retreat!  With all of the extra time we’ll have to get ready, we look forward to putting on an incredible retreat in 2022.

“But,” you’re thinking, “that is a long way away!”  We plan to have some online treats for you this February to fuel your fiber focus.  We’ll keep you up to date as we finalize these events.

Be Well,

John & Becky

Thank You!!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful first year’s retreat!!! Evaluations went out, and are starting to come in, and the responses have been overwhelmingly positive!

The dates for next year will be Feb. 11-14, 2021. Same place, The Hotel Murano.

And I know many of you are wanting to get a jump on next year’s Charity Fiber-In. We’re going to do a 50’s Sock hop! Get your poodle skirts, slick back your hair, and let’s all jitterbug our hearts out!

It is all in the Details

And lots of those details have been ironed out. Take a look through the website again if you haven’t looked recently.

Times and places have been added to all of the events as well as the much anticipated banquet menu.

Class times have been noted on the class pages.

And I know this has taken too long, but it isn’t as if we haven’t believed in these things the entire time, but now our Statement of Inclusiveness is available on the About Us page.

See you soon!! John & Becky

The Last Madrona

Becky and I are back from the last Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat.

I just want to say thank you, thank you, and thank you to Susanne and Cornie for putting on such a great show year after year.  It honestly was one of my favorite shows to teach at.  The students are always great, on time, prepared, and super smart.  Madrona truly has a wonderful sense of community.

I wanted to thank everyone at Madrona who spoke with us, too.  So many offered their thanks to us for continuing an event in that space at that time.  And the offers to help were too numerous to count, because the community there is so strong.  I am confident that that sense of community will continue at Red Alder, and that you will help us make it a truly special event next year.

Becky and I learned a great deal while there about how the show is run.  For those interested in teaching or vending, I have a list of people I’ll be sending proposal requests and vendor applications to.  If you want to be on that list, please drop me a line at [email protected].
