Breaking the Rules

Breaking the Rules

Stephenie Gaustad

Saturday AM

As beginning spinners, we watch our teachers and work to copy their movements and choices. Then we mature in our craft and discover that our original techniques can put limits on the range and type of yarn we spin. Take a new look at old concepts, old rules and discover we have a choice to break them to good end.

Skill level: Students should be able to spin a variety of yarn sizes from multiple fibers and have experienced using their yarn to knit, crochet, tat or crochet something from them.

Material Fee: $10 Materials fees include handouts in 8 1/2 by 11 format and spinning fibers.
