Boucle yarns have a very unique construction. This class explores making a traditional boucle and then exploring ideas to increase the scale of this yarn in different ways to create beautiful textured popcorn Boucle yarns.
This approach gives ideas on taking any traditional yarn structure and making it your own.
Skill Level:
Students should be familiar with their wheel, can spin a continuous thread and make a plied yarn
Student Supplies:
- Wheel with a large orfice (1/2” or more) to accommodate textured A smaller size orfice on your wheel will work as well to learn the technique by scaling down the texture and might require some hand-winding the yarn on your bobbin.
- 2-3 bobbins, or the ability to wind off bobbins onto storage bobbins
- Lazy kate
- Pen, paper to take notes
- Niddy noddy and any additional spinning tools you prefer
