Just a clasp to the left...learn how to warp with two or more colors in a clasped warp technique, then follow it up with clasped weft!
We’ll learn how to choose the correct yarn for your project, warp, and weave! Materials list is for an 8" x 6.5' scarf, if you have another project in mind please plan appropriately. Due to time constraints please plan for a warping width of 10" or less.
Skill Level: Students must have working knowledge of the basics of rigid heddle weaving.
Student Supplies:
Rigid Heddle loom
(1) 7.5 (ish) DPI Heddle
Scissors
10-12” Stick Shuttle
Measuring tape
Complete warping setup for your loom (clamps, hooks, warping peg, warping paper, etc)
Notebook & pen for taking notes (optional)
Please note that it's important for your warp to be the same base yarn. Example: Seattle Sky Dyeworks Temporum in Space Needle & Ferry for Color A & Color B
Warp: 200 yards fingering weight yarn in Color A, 200 yards fingering weight in Color B
Weft option 1: 200 yards in fingering weight Color 1, 200 yards fingering weight in Color 2
Weft option 2: 100 yards worsted weight Color 1, 100 yards worsted weight in Color 2
If you're feeling adventurous feel free to bring a third weft color
Homework: Please come to class with your yarn wound and ready for warping.
