Fair Isle Yoke Sweater
Thursday All Day
Students knit a small sweater in classic Shetland yarn for an 18” doll to learn the basic techniques for designing and knitting an Elizabeth Zimmermann–style yoke sweater with a small Fair Isle yoke design. The emphasis in this workshop is on construction. Students will knit the body and sleeves before the workshop; when we meet, we will work on joining the sleeves and body and adding short rows for a good fit. I will be discussing fit and design issues for adult-sized garments. Students leave with the information they need to knit an adult sweater
Skill level: Some experience in stranded knitting and knitting in the round.
Material Fee: $10 for yoke yarn and handout.
Student Supplies: 2 balls Shetland fingering weight wool. Needles you used for the body & sleeves; markers.
