Either you are creating an interesting shawl shape or want to add bust darts, short rows is your tool. Learn four ways to do short rows and use the one that fits the project. We will talk about how to calculate the sequence of short rows and where to apply them.
Skill level: Intermediate, must have basic knitting skills.
Material Fee: $0
Student Supplies: Homework swatches, worsted weight yarn and suitable size circular or straight needles, and stitch markers.
Homework: With class yarn and needles make 3 unfinished swatches as follows:
Swatch #1, #2, #3:
CO 24 sts.
Rows 1 and 2: Knit.
Row 3: (WS) Purl.
Transfer sts to a stitch holder or leave on needle. Leave enough yarn to continue this swatch for about 2 inches.
