Michele Lee Bernstein

Thursday PM

So you’ve mastered two-color brioche rib. What next? Increases and decreases with the Whale Watch Cap or Cowl! We'll have a *very brief* brioche rib refresher, and then we'll move on to the increases and decreases that create beautiful patterning in brioche. We’ll also learn about reading your brioche knitting, brioche charts, and fixing mistakes.

Skill level:
Knit/purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round, know how to work 2 color brioche rib. This is not a beginning brioche class.

Material Fee:
$5 for Whale Watch Cap and Cowl pattern; I'll email you a code to download before class

Student Supplies:
One light colored and one dark colored worsted weight yarn, 100 yards each (example: Malabrigo Rios), 16" US 6 circular needle, 10 stitch markers. A row counter is helpful, too. (You can use a 24” needle for cowl, but it may be tight, depending on your gauge.)

Homework:
With DC (Dark Color), loosely cast on 72 (80) sts for small (large) hat, or 100 sts for cowl, using long tail cast on. Join to work in the round, pm, then K 1 rnd. Bring yarn to front and leave it hanging there. See you in class!
