How to Crochet the Crescendo Blanket, a seamless, join-as-you-go adventure

Kaysie Culbertson

Saturday AM

The Crescendo Blanket is a seamless throw that showcases 2 contrasting stitch patterns in traditional crochet. As a class, we will follow specifically designed instructions for a mini version of the pattern to practice all the steps and techniques, which include, but are not limited to: chainless foundation row, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, working into the front or back loop only of a hdc, and working into the edge of an already completed piece. Help to be provided one-on-one as needed, depending on class level. If class level and time allows, we can go on to explore adapting this pattern to other yarn weights, to other crafts like knitting or Tunisian crochet, and ways we could use these techniques to design our own join-as-you-go patterns.
