The old song says “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. My version would be hand cards are a spinner’s best friend. Besides making rolags for woolen yarns there are many other ways of using hand cards, we will play with several and see the yarns they create. It all depends on the fibers you use, how you dress the cards and the way you spin the yarn.
Hand cards belong in every spinner’s basket even those who only spin prepared fibers
Skill level: Beginning spinning skills required. Students should be able to spin a continuous yarn and be comfortable with their wheel.
Material Fee: $25 Fiber, handouts.
Student Supplies:
Spinning wheel in good working condition and all its parts
Hand cards, Usual spinning accessories
