Roositud gloves, which emerged in the 1800s in Estonia, are knitted in the round in one color. Other colors are worked into the structure through the roosimine inlay technique. Floats of contrasting yarns are created on the right side of the work. In this class, students can knit gloves or fingerless mitts from a pattern of five sizes using the charts provided, or may create their own motifs. In addition, different cuff treatments are taught, such as faux entrelac, scalloped cuffs, braids and cords. This technique can be applied to anything one knits! In addition tips for knitting gloves in general are shared.
Skill level: Advanced-Must be comfortable with using double-pointed needles or Magic Loop or two circulars.
