Dye the Rainbow Using Natural Dye

In this class we will dye a rainbow of colors using both naturally sourced raw dyestuffs and extracts. We will talk about mordanting and instructions will be given but it won’t be done in class. We will also explore overdyeing, combining dyes, the individual preferences of different dyes, and using iron as a modifier.

Student Supplies:

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dye on, bring rubber gloves and plastic bags to take home your wet yarn.
