Runway: Rubber Duck

Runway: Rubber Duck

Celebrate your creativity at the world's quackiest fashion show!

Dress a rubber duck in your handmade haute coot-ure and enter it in our "splash"-ion show. Our fashionable feathered friends will waddle the runway until Sunday afternoon, when we'll announce the winners! Prizes will be awarded for Best-Dressed Duck, Fan Favorite Fashionista, Top Flock, and more.

Think tiny sweaters, dramatic capes, jaunty hats, elegant wraps, bold costumes, or delightfully impractical fashion statements. Garments and accessories may be knit, crocheted, felted, sewn, or constructed using any makerly technique. Mixed media is welcome, creativity is encouraged, and whimsy is highly recommended.

Be sure to stop by the Duck Walk outside the entrance to the Marketplace to vote for the Fan Favorite Fashionista. Voting will be open from 12:30pm Saturday to 12:30pm Sunday.*

And don't miss the big reveal — the announcement of the winners Sunday at 12:30pm!

Rules:

Dress your duck in your own handmade creations. This can be something you knit, crocheted, sewed, felted, paper-mâchéd, or created in some other way, but it should have been made by you.

Please dress a plain rubber duck. Ducks with pre-formed, pre-printed, or otherwise pre-existing clothing will not be considered for judging.

You can source your own duck pre-show, or get one from us at the registration desk with proof of a donation to this year's fundraising beneficiary, Knit the Rainbow.

Duck entrants should be standard rubber duck size; no giant ducks, please.

Want to dress more than one duck? You can enter a flock of ducks that share a theme. Flocks are considered one entry and are eligible for our Top Flock prize.

Bring your duck or flock to the Duck Walk outside the Marketplace to get a number tag for voting. Be sure to add your name and contact information to the entry form. Entries can be dropped off from 9am Thursday morning until 12:30pm Saturday.

Ducks will remain on display until after the announcements of the winning ducks at 12:30 pm Sunday and may be reclaimed between 1:00 and 4:30pm Sunday afternoon.

*Limit of one vote per person.
